Hi, I was wondering if an LCD can be connected to the 6211, which has only 4 digital data output pins. It works fine on NI-DAQ6008 with 8 data pins. Is there any way I can connect it to 6211? As seen below I need P0.0 to P0.7 and P1.0 to P1.2, but there's only P0.0 to P0.3 and P1.0 to P1.2 on the 6211.
Here's how I connected it to the 6008. Attached is the LCD screen datasheet. Thanks.
Pin on 6008 LCD pin
P0.0 7 (DB0)
P0.1 8 (DB1)
P0.2 9 (DB2)
P0.3 10 (DB3)
P0.4 11 (DB4)
P0.5 12 (DB5)
P0.6 13 (DB6)
P0.7 14 (DB7)
P1.0 4(RS:REGISTER SELECT)
P1.1 5(R/W:READ/WRITE)
P1.2 6(E:DATA ENABLE)
+5V 2(POSITIVE POWER SUPPLY)
gnd 1 (GROUND)
a resistor is connected across pins 1 and 3 of the LCD screen, which controls the contrast of the LCD screen.

Its coz the 6008 belongs to my college and its kinda hard for me to get it at times whereas I have the 6211. Is there any way I can do it with the 6211? BTW there's no parallel port on my PC, sorry.
I can see your problem. If that help. The only advice I can give is that do not let other (an older) students bully you. If you need time with the 6008 device talk to your teacher and say you can not solve your assignment unless you get some time with the 6008 device. Perhaps some other students can use your 6211 device meanwhile you are working with the 6008. Just do not tell them that it is your device. Let them think the 6211 college property 😉
