I like the disable items, It is new to me. I usually remove selections not available to avoid questions by operators of why something in the ring can not be selected. Also, by removing items from the list , reduces the selections and makes faster data input from the control. I also have to index items so I know the order from the original array of items. By disabling selections this keeps the proper index value and is properly indexed without extra code.
