How to assign a VI to a prioritized thread

Hello,

I'm running a few VI's at the same time and it seems to me that the way the computer OS is assigning threads, or splitting up the processing power is giving me timing issues.  Is there a way to explicitly assign VI's to different threads, in an effort to give some VI's or  even parts of code a higher priority than others?
