I've read SVE works as an OPC sever, but when I try to browse it with a third-party OPC client I get no items.
Is there any configuration needed? Is DSC needed?

Hi Keptat
Thanks for using NI forums.
DSC is not needed in order to use the SVA as an OPC server. In fact the SVE should be available with the installation of just LabVIEW.
The most common reason why the people can't see the SVE is because they have turned the Windows Firewall on. Could you check this point please?
Be sure that the variables are deployed in your computer using the Distributed System Manager (Tools>>Distributed System Manager).
You can also download LabVIEW DSC from our webpage, it installs an OPC Client and you could try with that one.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for answering, Coamín.
Yes, my firewall is disabled, my Library is deployed and I certainly can see the "library", but not its items ("variables", in LabVIEW terms), not through a tihrd-party OPC client.
I use the "get items" command and I get no response.
I verified my deployed library with the Distributed System Manager, btw.
I tried several OPC clients, all of them see my library, with the same results...
Do I need to configure DCOM?

Hi Keptat
DCOM shouldn’t be the problem because you are not using the OPC server from an external computer or from other PC user, nevertheless, you can always try to do it.
I’m attaching some links with information about the DCOM privileges and how to configure de SVE.
Are you able to see others OPC servers with your clients?
