Currently, the PXI handles all data acquisition tasks, including collecting data from TCP connections, and local DAQ boards.
It aggregates all this data and ships it to the host in a unified manner.
Now, my client wants to add cDAQ support to the system.
I don't have a real cDAQ chassis.
I can add a simulated cDAQ chassis to the host (via MAX), and a simulated device in the chassis's slot.
But I cannot do this to the remote device.
When I right-click on the DEVICES and INTERFACES on the REMOTE systems section, I can choose CREATE NEW & SIMULATED DEVICE.
But the list does NOT include CompactDAQ Chassis.
If I do the exact same thing on the HOST, I CAN create a chassis, and populate it. Software works just as I would expect it to.
Why is this not available on the REMOTE (PXI) side?

Hello,
I have this same issue, only that I DO have a NI cDAQ-9188 Ethernet chassis.
I'm not able to see this chassis on the Network Devices of my remote system (PXI 8184, Real-Time OS).
It's not a USB chassis, so maybe it's compatible with LV Real-Time?

I don't believe your cDAQ device is compatible with the RT OS.
NI-DAQmx and NI-DAQ Driver Support: Portable Devices
Software Support for CompactRIO, CompactDAQ, Single-Board RIO, R Series, FlexRIO, and EtherCAT
The cRIO 9148 offers similar functionality for RT systems.
