I have some I-7018 modules connected to a I-7520 module (this module converts RS-485 to RS-232). They are wired correctly since with the software of ICP COM I can see the communication works fine.
The modules use DCOM communication, 9600baudrate, 8 data bits....
The problem comes with Labview. I made some simple .VI to write and read through the serial port. Then I create an executable of that .VI and run it in other computer. When I run any of the executables I never get an answer from the modules and I don't know why.
I tried several things:
- I have download from manufacturers web the DLL for labview...but they are really old (2004) and doesn't work on Labview 2016 and in 64bit PC. http://www.icpdas.com/root/support/download/7000/7000.html
- I tried some different .VI to try to read an answer from the modules (see attached)
- I think I have installed all the drivers in the PC where I run the executables but i don't know if i'm missing something
