Thanks for the information Mark,
It looks like the setup is looking for some files that aren't present. Can you verify that SupportFiles\WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe actually exists in the location you unzipped the beta driver.
I have already checked and this should be bundled along with it. If the file is not present then we can try redownloading the software if that's possible.
Let me know
Thanks,

Can,
I downloaded the beta again and rather than installing it from a network drive copied it to a temporary folder on a local drive, making sure all original folder structures were retained. The installation worked, so the issue of what particular version of Windows Installer was present appears to have been a red herring.
Thanks,
Mark

Hello Everyone,
National Instruments is working on releasing a version of the NI-Sync that supports LabVIEW 8.6. In doing this we are also trying to add more features that have been suggested in the Product Suggestion Center. We know that it has been a while since a new version of NI-Sync has been released and for this we are offering the beta version 3.1. You can find a link to this here: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/8340
This should also include details on the features that we are adding and the progress being made. We appreciate any feedback you have for us on this.
Thank You
We received our quarterly maintenance DVD shipment for NIDeveloper Suite.
We have all been waiting for this, but we are all nowdisappointed again.
No NI-SYNC that will install on the current version of LabVIEW.
You know, 2004 was a really good year for NI-SYNC; we hadversions 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 in rapid succession.
In 2005 we got 2.0.
In 2006 we got 2.0.1.
In 2007 we got 3.0.
No updates in 2008.
No updates in 2009.
I don't know what the difference between 2.0 and 2.0.1 was, butI bet you that it fixed something.
Now NI, pay attention, lets do it again. Lets make a new 3.0.1 version ofNI-SYNC that fixes something. Whynot let that fix be that new version of NI-SYNC will actually install on to thelatest version of LabVIEW?
Come on NI. Do something. It is just a targetdirectory change for goodness sake.
It’s been 2 years since the last update.
Again, I hope we all do not have to wait for LabVIEW 9.2.1and NI-SYNC 4.1.1
before we can again have a version of ni-sync that works withLabVIEW.
Kevin.

Justin, with no due respect intended, I have heard it all before.
Jack Arnold, Systems Engineer - Sound and Vibration, also promised me an updated NI-SYNC by the end of the year. Jack promise was on 8/20/2008. I thought he was referring to the year 2008. You seem to be suggesting it will be in 2009. I don't know what to believe. 2010 Maybe?
Jack Arnold emailed on 8/20/2008:
Kevin -
The serial number issue will be fixed in a release of NI-SYNC by the end of the year. Do you need this to be resolved sooner? If so, would you be willing to use beta software (i.e. not released and not fully tested)?
