Interested in a driver for HP 83480 or HP71603??

I have some preliminary drivers for both instruments, but need to
finish documentation and verify the connections on all VIs. Anyone

I'm interested in an HP 83480A driver.  Does the driver work with all the plug-in variants/modules?  What documentation do you have that can accompany the driver?  I am using LabWindows CVI V7.1.0 (and can get access to LabView 7.0) with a GPIB interface to the instrument.

I hope you realize you're responding to a post that's 8 years old. The poster made one post and hasn't been seen since that post.

Also, if you're using LabWindows the driver won't do you much good as is. You would need to compile the code into a DLL so you can call it from LabWindows, and you would still need the LabVIEW Runtime engine in order to use the LabVIEW DLL. 

As for the drivers: those instruments are really old. The 83480 was considered "new" in 1996. This means it will be tough to find drivers for it. There are none in the NI Instrument Driver Network. Your best bet is to see if there's a driver for an instrument with similar functionality and take a look at it to see if you can make modifications to make it work. Given the age, it's highly likely that the command sets may be different.

It's also not a good idea to post your email address in a public forum. That's just aching for a SPAMmer out there to harvest it.

I wasn't sure how the original person would get me the driver if I didn't include my e-mail address.  If it's a bad idea, can I remove the e-mail address from my previous message?

Assuming the original poster was still around (which they're not), code can be posted directly within the threads so you can download it from the message.

If you want to remove your email you will need to send a message to the moderator. Just pull down the Options menu and select "Report to Moderator", and provide a description of what you want done.
