Is it possible to continuously write multiple variables to one spreadsheet file?

Excel should have no problems opening it. Save it as .txt and open with excel.

Even with an .xls extension, excel will notice the format mismatch and convert it automatically. Try that instead of xlsx.

Thanks, everyone who contributed!  I got it to work now.  I didn't realize excel could open a .txt file.
