As an NI Alliance member, I develop with LabVIEW full-time and always want to keep up to date with the latest version, so not being able to install LV2011 on my main development PC is a real problem. NI have obviously changed something significant in their installer and forgot to handle the error messages properly, and the lack of error information is a complete nightmare, as I cannot proceed any further or even attenpt to fix my "broken" PC without knowing what the cause is. Are we going to have to wait until 2011f1 is released or can NI do something to help us?
If it's any help, I have the following software already installed on my PC:
- LV 8.2.1
- LV 8.6
- LV 2009
- LV 2010
- MS Office 2007
- MS Visio
- MS IE 8
- MS Visual C++ 2008 Express
- Adobe Photoshop 7.0, Illustrator 8.0, Reader 9
- iTunes
- JKI VI Package Manager
- ZoneAlarm Extreme Security
- Nero 9
- HP Photosmart
- Acronis True Image Home 2010
- Registry Mechanic
+ many other small utilities and hardware drivers.
Maybe there is a conflict with something already installed, or maybe there is a problem in the registry.

Same problem but only on the installation of the driver.
I try to install separately the interested driver for me and it's succesfull for RFSA and SCOPE.
But I have this error for the RIO installation.
Please NI, solve this problem !!!

I just tried to install LV2011 again with log file generation, but got a slightly different crash - even earlier than before but with a Windows dialogue window. The log file is attached. I noticed a strange thing in the log file - it reported that my system has 254 LabVIEW serial numbers, but actually only 3 or 4 different ones.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!
I have been given the solution to LabVIEW 2011 installer crash by Michael Waage (AST Product Support Engineer 2011InstallerSupport@ni.com). It turns out, for some unknown reason, that my PC had a damaged Windows Installer cache and was missing 57 MSIs. It was diagnosed by an NI utility called MSICacheCheck.exe which Michael sent me, and by running the LabVIEW setup.exe with the /log option. He then very kindly emailed me a zip file containing all missings MSIs which I copied to C:\Windows\Installer. I re0ran the LabVIEW 2011 installer DVD and the whole install worked as expected. Thankyou NI Support.

For me too, it's working with the same solution.
I scan my PC with the MSICacheCheck.exe software with the log option.
I have only one missing installer and Michael Waage send me this missing file throught the NI ftp site.
Thank you !
