LabVIEW 2013 Window Appearance

Hi folks

I'm facing a new problem since I've installed LabVIEW 2013. I configured my main application window to hide both toolbar as well as the scrollbars. The window appears as the attached screenshot demonstrates. Instead of the (hidden) toolbar a white bar shows up, by the same height as the toolbar actually would have. Same issue with the scrollbars. After creating an exe file the problem disappears in matters of the scroll bars. The toolbar has the same problem as it had before.

You can see the window appearance configuration in the second screenshot. The application itself has not changed, I just updated from LabVIEW 2012 to 2013.

Anyone else noticed this, too?

Thanks for any feedback!

I see that you still have the option to display the abort/run/... buttons.

What happens if you uncheck those options (and rebuild the EXE)?

Hi Norbert

This approach brings me the same issue.

Can you check if this also happens if you create a new project in 2013 with a "dummy"?

Hmm, when I create a dummy VI the problem does not appear. Neither when I copy the whole VI into a new one. This causes some work but is possible. Looks like a corrupt VI??

Not necessarily. Did you take your original project and try to create a completly new build spec in it?

Maybe its a "corrupt" build spec....

This cannot only be a corrupt build specification because the problem occurs also when I run the VI within LabVIEW without creating an executable.

I have heard many similar complaints.  I think it's some sort of graphics glitch.  Some complain about a black toolbar.  With some, it's a corrupted-looking toolbar.

Hello,

does the VI work now?

Was you able to build an exe?

Hi Richard

I haven't seen your post until now... I'm sorry!

The problem is still persistent, with and without executable. But accidentally I found out what triggers the problem:

VI Properties --> Window Appearance:

Disable "Show Toolbar when running" and both "Show Scrollbar" and don't allow the user neither to close nor resize the window.

VI Properties --> Window Size:

Define a fixed window size.

VI Properties --> Window Run-Time Position:

Define a fixed Run Time Position (e.g. "Centered") and don't check"Use Current Panel Size".

Anyone can reproduce this issue using LabVIEW 2013? Attached you'll find an example VI.
