LabVIEW VI file error; File is not a resource file. The file '<file>.vi' could not be loaded.

Okay I got this error when loading a VI.

"File is not a resource file. The file '<file>.vi' could not be loaded."

This happend after my Virtual Machine, in which I develop, crashed. Can someone help me with repairing this? I namely really need this VI. I had auto saving on. However my "My Documents\LabVIEW Data\LVAutoSave" folder seems to be empty.

-edit 1-

I just looked into the file with a HEX editor. I believe the data is still intact but that it misses some metadata perhabs for opening it correctly...

-edit 2-

I now just love Windows 7 "Previous Versions" functionality. I atleast did not loose everything yet. However still some work so if it can be repaired I am thankfull.

Hi,

Thanks for your posting here and I have to say that in your situation is the big chance that your vi is corrupted but still you can look at the link below which is about that error.

Hi!

I found your post about deleted VIs... Can you help me with opening recovered VIs? Or it is impossible?

Well did you read the thread?  Do you use Windows 7 with the file history feature?  Did you use SCC?  Do you have a backup?  If not then this is a good wakeup call to use one or more of those in the future.

Yes, I read the thread. But backup option was disabled on my system.

So, I tried to recover deleted files with different externel tools, but all restored files doesn't open in Labview. I tried to open this files in the hex editor and there are only zeroes, although file's size is not null. Is there any way to recover my project?
