I am working on an application for controlling an offshore cable laying barge. I am considering the use of the DSC Module but I am concerned about two things:
1) Is the Historical Data Viewer component of the Measurement and Automation Explorer included with the DSC Runtime? In other words, upon distribution and using a licensed version of the DSC Runtime, will the users of my program have acces to this utility to browse and export data from the Citadel database?
2) The application I am working on is mission critical. There will be at least one backup computer on the barge with an installed and licensed DSC Runtime. However, in an emergency, can the the application distribution be loaded on another machine and operated in an "Evaluation" mode for a period of time while the license for the DSC Runtime is sorted out?
Thanks for your help,
Joe

OK. Found the "Call HDV.vi" on the Historical pallette so I see I can call the Historical Data Viewer from within my program. Question #1 answered.

Hi Joe,
It looks like you found the right answer to your first question! To answer your second question, unfortunately, the DSC Run-Time does not include an evaluation mode. It must be licensed upon installation for functionality. If you needed to have the DSC Run-Time on two PC's you would need to have two licenses. Please let me know if you have any further questions!
