I haven't had much luck using the feeds to install software onto my RT Targets (SBRIO 9638 or CRIO 9056) {using NI MAX}.
I have been using LV2020 (with a Win 10 laptop) for development.
It was very easy to use NI MAX---> Add or Remove Software--> "Software Set" Recommended Software Stack - NI Compact RIO 20.5 - September 2020".
This was based on my installation of LV 2020 Controls and Monitoring suite that I installed on the host (this was a few years ago).
Now, I installed LV 2024 Q3 Controls and Monitoring suite (this is on a new Win11 laptop) from the offline installation package.
I can communicate with the targets OK in NI MAX.
I formatted the device.
However, using NI MAX, there is no "Software set" available now to install.
I've formatted the device for Custom software installation provides nothing either.
How do I get a recommended software stack say "NI Compact RIO 24.X - MonthY 2024" to show up in NI MAX like I did before?
Is this still an option?
Thank you!

The "Software Set - Recommended Software Stack" is a CDF-based legacy installation method and has been obsoleted as of NI-RIO 2021.
Moving forward, you need to use the IPK-based installation. See Installing Software on NI Linux Real-Time PXI Controllers
