Hi Everyone,
I am having a hard time making work the LabVIEW plugin under Linux,
My application is running on a Win7 x64 machine with LabVIEW 2013 f2,
-WIN: no problem controlling it under any Windows machine on the network, as long as the LabVIEW runtime engine 2013 min is intalled after browsers installation
-OSX: it works with Firefox & Chrome, but not with safari. (missing plug-in)
Although the popup for the plugin is the bit annoying and it starts 2 times the interface on two different ports, a bit strange...
-LINUX: LVRTE is installed, I copied the plugin into the plugin folder for both Firefox&Chrome, but still doesn't work.
Firefox: The National Instruments LabVIEW 2013 plugin has crashed
Chrome: could not load National Instruments LAbVIEW 2013 Plug-in.
I have read this page http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/151BE12C055F57CE86257043006CB4B3?OpenDocument 100 times but I must admit that I find it out of date.
Thanks for your help.

Hello there;
LabVIEW uses an ActiveX pluggin and Microsoft Silverlight for it's web services;
You can find the pluggin here:
Hope this helps...

I see you already had found the link,,... sorry about that.
I double checked and apparently, right now Mozila Firefox is not working properly with the pluggin so my best advice would be to use explorer or chrome instead...
Since the Application Web Server is configured through the NI Web Configuration and Monitoring utility in a web browser and to use this utility you must install Microsoft Silverlight®. and therefore MacOS is not compatible... more info here
Hope this helps

Hi Marisol,
Thanks for your answer although, the link you send was stated in my initial message and haven't been much help.
I already have copied the plugins from NI RTE installation in the Browsers folders as explained in the link but with no luck.
What can I do to solve this problem?
Thanks,

Hey there,
Are you asking if you can (1) deploy a web service on a Linux machine? I looked at the functions list here, and the Web Services palette only works on Windows, so I'm pretty sure that means deploying web services is Windows only. as mentioned in the FAQ page..
Or, do you want to interact with a deployed web service on Linux? If you are asking to communicate to a deployed web service, it communicates via http, which is something the Datasocket API should be able to handle.
Cheers

Hi Marisol,
No I just want to control a remote front panel running on a Windows7 machine from a Linux machine trough the browser.
It works perfectly under windows, it works under MacOSX but does not under Linux.
Thanks,
