Light up square matrix of leds

Hi friends,

I am trying to light up an nxn square matrix of leds (n is pair), from the inner squares to the outer squares and vice versa in a case structure, like the image shown below.

Thanks in advance.

What have you tried so far?

When you explain that, you'll want to clarify things.  Do you want the LEDs to light up only a single square at a time?  The lines you show would skip the 3x3 for example.  When the 4x4 lights up, do you want the 2x2 to remain lit or turn off?

Sorry for not being explicit.

Yes, I want the leds to light up a square at a time.

The matrix must be of pair size, so there will not be a 3x3 square.

At the end, the whole matrix should be lit, so the squares of lower dimension wont turn off.

You must be in the same class as TWRLK.

We're not going to answer the same questions all over again in a different thread.  Read that thread.  Search out that person and partner up with them.
