Linux Labview 2012 crash upon startup

My sys admin recently installed LabVIEW 2012 on a Linux box running Red Hat 6.3. She can start LabVIEW with no problem. However, as a regular user, it crashes upon startup with a segmentation fault with the reason: address not mapped to object / attempt to reference address: 0x0x....   The kernel is 3.0.36-rt57.....x86_64.

How can I determine what the problem is? I tried labview --debug but it gave the same resuts as without --debug.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi vickij, how are you?

Could you please send me the error log and some more information for us to troubleshoot it? (The error files can be found in the tmp directory in Linux)

  • What NI softwares are you using on your machine?
  • What LabVIEW version are you using, Full, Professional, Base, 32-bit, 64-bit?
  • Does the same error occur on different machines?
  • Are you able to use LabVIEW with your admin user on the machine where the error ocurred?

On this link there is an article talking about Linux compatibility with LabVIEW. I'll be waiting for your reply.
