Lock-In-Amplifier SR830

Hi, I'm trying to communicate with the SR830, but I keep receiving an ERR (30) error (bad print record or No GPIB Address Input), but I already have the correct GPIB address and I don't know what bad print record means. Could anybody help get around this error or correct it? I've had a few people already look at my program, and they can't find anythign wrong with it.

Hi sjl006,

The error 30 include LabVIEW error and GPIB error. Here, "bad print record" is LabVIEW error, "No GPIB Address Input" is GPIB error. So, you do not need to care for "bad print record".

The error said "No GPIB Address Input", but could you communicate with the SR830 in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX)?
If so, there is something wrong with your program.
If not so, you could not establish communication with SR830.

Please check whether you could communicate with SR830 in MAX, and then you should debug the error 30.

Hi Indiana,

It looks that you already worked with an SR830 Lock-In-Amplifier.

I spoke with someone who has a problem and you can perhaps ask me.
When he try to use the SR830 Example.vi, the ERROR led on the front panel flashes.

The explanation is:   Flashes whenever there is a computer interface error such as an illegal
                                  command or out of range parameter is received.

I think this is not normal use...
I can try this because I don't have the instrument...

    I am trying to control SR830 lock-in amplifier using Labview. But I could not do anything such as I can not change sensitivity, time constant or any other thing. Basically I am new in the Labview. I am using GPIB card for interface. It will be very much helpful to me

if anyone can give me any vi file which controls the SR830.

Hi,

I am also working on Lock in Amp. SR830.
I keep on getting error (6)  (can see http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/2FA525A8585A92E9862566EE002A3755#EABO )
i am getting this error while using the function ibrd (bd, cmd, 10); which is a standard function from file gpib.h
As per my analysis i think the problem would be some where in end of string(EOS) but i dont know how to rectify it.

How are you doing?  Are you able to communicate with the device in Measurement and Automation?  I recommend you first use interactive control in measurement and automation to try to perform the basic commands.  Please tell me your results.  Thank you!

I can communicate with SR83 by using SR830 EXAMPLE.vi.  I hope the data can be refreshed real time and be plotted in graph, so I used time loop and coverted string to numeric then to plot. At this time the data can be refreshed but the error LED in the front panel of SR830 flashed. It seems that the system doesnot work well, but I donnot know what is the problem and how to solve it. I am just a beginner for Labview, is there anyone can help me?

i see in the string output as yyyyyyyyyy

even though i see some numbers there
