Looking for Virtual Biomedical Engineering Labs

Good afternoon,

My name is Brandon. I am a doctoral student and Graduate Teaching Assistant in Biomedical Engineering. I teach an undergraduate biomedical engineering (BME) technical elective at my institution. My students are currently learning about biosensors and bioinstrumentation and I am looking for an easy-to-use informative online biosensors laboratory platform for them to use during class. I found the LabView platform but wasn’t sure how user-friendly it was? Does anyone know if any good easy-to-learn EEG or EKG (virtual) experiments that can be conducted with the NI platform?

When it comes to programming languages, it's relatively easy to get simple things done fast. It's usually considered easy and intuitive, especially for first time programmers. When comming from a C\C++\Python background, it can be tricky to learn to use LabVIEW correctly.

LabVIEW was created for laboratories, so you are definitely in the right field.

Note though that doing more difficult things still requires skills and experience. But that is where teaching comes in.

There are options out-of-the-box options: Simulating-an-EEG-using-the-Biomedical-Toolkit-for-LabVIEW, that require the biomedical toolkit (which seems appropriate anyway).

It wouldn't be too hard to set this up for someone familiar with LabVIEW. A local alliance partner or someone from a local user group might be able to help with this. There's always this forum with lots of people that are willing to help.
