I was looking at a system in the measurement and automation explorer. The 2790 Combiner shows Self-Test, Configure, and Test Panels buttons on the top menu bar, but the 5644R Transceiver does not. Where do I find the self-test and other buttons for the 5644R?
Thanks,

Hi,
Can you upload a screenshot of what you are seeing for the 5644R in NI MAX? You should have the Self-Test and soft front panel links in the top menu bar. Below is a screenshot of the same module in my chassis in NI MAX:
Have you already installed RFSG and RFSA?
Also, for the future, please be sure to post your questions in the appropriate forum in order to receive the most direct support; in this case, the RF Measurement Devices forum is where this question would be best placed.

Thank you. On the same menu if I select the 2790, there is a self test. For the 5644R, I do not see self test option, though for it to say it's working properly, there must be some sort of automatic test that's occurring. A person that's not here any longer originally set this up. Where / how would I tell if RFSG and RFSA is installed? p.s. understood re category, it just seemed a toss-up, since I'm not sure where the issue lies.
Thanks again

For NI-RFSA Soft Front Panel it came up with an error ERROR: One of more elements of the application could not be found. Reinstall the NI-RFSA Soft Front Panel. In the photo I previously uploaded here, it says Status___ This device is working properly. If there is no test button due to the RFSA error, why/how can is say that the device is working properly? Thanks

Hi,

If you expand the Software item under My System in NI MAX, if RFSG/RFSA are installed you will see them listed as in the screenshot:
For NI-RFSA Soft Front Panel it came up with an error ERROR: One of more elements of the application could not be found. Reinstall the NI-RFSA Soft Front Panel. The test panel enables you to test using the device (acquiring a spectrum, taking RF measurements, etc.) but does not report whether the device is actually working. The status indication means that the module is present and is communicating successfully with the computer, and so does not depend on having the test panel or test button. When you press the Self-Test button, it will perform a set of tests and notify you in a different place than the status that everything is working properly.
Based on this error, it does sound like RFSA is installed, but not successfully. I'd suggest a re-installation of RFSA and RFSG. If they are not installed on the computer at all, see the links I posted in my first message to download the installers.
p.s. understood re category, it just seemed a toss-up, since I'm not sure where the issue lies.
Sure, I understand. The way we typically think about is that any question relating to using or troubleshooting a particular device, or its associated driver, would be best placed within that specific subsection. The LabVIEW forum is ideal for any situation where your question is particularly about LabVIEW programming, concepts, bugs, etc., regardless of the particular hardware being used.
