MAX & 230400 Baud Rate Setting

A lower baud rate works in LabVIEW or when you use TeraTerm (or both)?

  • Lower baud rate ( less than 128000 & 230400 ) works fine in MAX and Tera Term.

Also, is this a "real" COM port or a USB-to-serial adapter?

  • USB-to-serial adapter

USB-to-serial adapters with a Prolific chipset have been known to cause issues with high speed communications (as well as a host of other issues) + LabVIEW.  I'm not sure if this applies to MAX as well.  No one really knows why this is so.

I know I'm talking about "workaround" now, and not "fix", but Is there a particular reason you cannot use a lower baud rate?

Thanks billko. The application will not work properly at lower baud rate that is the reason for the emphasis at high rate. Based on your suggestions, I am doing additional testing, I will post my update soon.

I wish I had an answer for you instead of more questions.  😞
