MAX does not see cards as DAQmx

Solved!
Go to solution

I have three NI cards in my machine: PCI-6602, PCI-6120, and PCI-MIO-16E-4 (aka PCI-6040E).  For some reason my measurement & automation explorer (MAX) does not see them as I would expect.  It sees the PCI-MIO card in both the DAQmx and Traditional NI-DAQ folders, yet it only sees the other two in the Traditional NI-DAQ folder.  I should be seeing them all as DAQmx as far as I know.  I read in a post in this forum that I may be a corrupted MAX database; therefore, I renamed it and rebooted to no avail.  I have applications that I have programmed in Delphi that see, acess and use all three cards using traditional DAQ, so I know they are working, at least in some capacity.  When I use LabVIEW, it sees only the PCI-MIO card for the DAQmx operations, and I would love to find a way to make it see all three of them as DAQmx.  I believe that all three cards are compatible with both DAQmx and Traditional DAQ.  My installed software versions are: LabVIEW 7.0, MAX 4.2.1.3001, NI-Spy 2.0.0.16, NI-488.2 1.70, NI-DAQmx 7.0.7f0, NI-PAL 2.0.0, NI-SWITCH 2.00.49156, NI-VISA 3.1, Traditional NI-DAQ 7.4.4f7 (I have also tried version 6.9.3f4 with no success).

I hope that this is something with a simple fix.

Thanks in advance for those that take the time to read and reply to this message.

Thanks

Neil

Did you look in the readme for DAQmx 7.0? That was the first version and those devices were not yet supported. The latest version of DAQmx that you can run with LabVIEW 7.0 is version 8.1. Those cards are listed as being supported.
