Missing SCXI modules in DAQ Assistant

Hi

I am currently trying to configure a Computer / PXI / SCXI system and I am having some issues with DAQ mx and the DAQ assistant.

Currently the PC is connected to the PXI-1011 chassis via a PXI-8360 (MXI-Express card (Slot 1)) which is connected into the back of the PC.

The PXI part of the chassis has a 6052E in slot 4 to enable it to talk to the SCXI chassis inserted below is an image of MAX currently.

The issue I am having is that once in labview (2011) when trying to use the DAQ Assistant to acquire a thermocouple reading from chanel 0 of the SCXI 1102 card with a SCXI 1303 accessory i seem to only be able to select between the 0 - 15 6052Es chanels and dont have the option to select a chanel from the SCXI modules?

Hi alex,

the DAQ Assistent ExpressVI is used for DAQmx devices. Your SCXI chassis is listed under "Traditional DAQ" devices and so not available for the ExpressVI…

Ohh that explains that, next questtion would be is there any way of making the old school devices visible under the DAQmx devices i.e under the PXI System (External PC)

Chassis 1 etc?

please call the NI support for this topic.

Not all devices are supported with all DAQmx versions and all kind of OS - but NI should know about the allowed combinations…

Turns out the issue was that I was trying to acces the SCXI modules through the legacy devices and not through the higher up devices and inerfaces.

Added through the devices and interfaces and now works perfectly!
