NI 9205

Hello I'm new with cDAQ and I have a question with module NI 9205.

I want to adquire 5 signals from a LEM and 2 voltage signals from another device.

Attached schematic and datasheet.

Is my configuration okey?

thanks

Hi rufus,

I don't see any GND/COM connection in your schematics…

And I hope you don't want to (ab)use the 9205 to supply power to your LEM sensors!

Best regards,
GerdW

And how should I connect it?

thanks

As shown in the datasheet of your HAX850 sensors!

To measure a voltage you need to connect OUTPUT and GND pins to your 9205.

Those sensors need a ±15V power supply…

To discuss such questions you should supply a real electrical schematic, showing all relevant devices (power supply, sensor(s), DAQ) and all the needed connections!

Best regards,
GerdW

Yes I know the 15V power supply for the LEM.

The pin 3 of the LEM (Output) to AI0 of 9205.

The pin 4 of the LEM (0V) to AI8 of 9205.

.

.

The connection with 9205 is it okey?

So all connections labeled with a minus in the name refer to a GND connection?

What about those "V1±/V2±" connections to your 9205? Do you want to measure the voltage supply too?

The 9205 can only measure ±10V, so ±15V is "out of range"…

Yes pin4 of the LEM.

No, I want to measure the voltage of the equipment that I want to test. For that I´m going to make a voltage divider.

Hi rufus,

well, now it looks like a viable solution.

You should learn from this thread: when discussing questions about electrical schematics you should always supply a good electrical schematic! (There are even free web-based tools to create such schematics.)

Best regards,
GerdW
