NI LIN Communication Using 8506

Hi All,

We are trying to communicate with a device which has LIN Port. The device will transmitting data using LIN. We are trying to read to data using NI 8506 and X-NETdriver.

The Device is functioning properly which has been verified using Peak USB PLIN. The PLIN pro software is able receive data from the Test Device. We have attached images of PLIN data read. The test device will be transmitting data continuously. We are trying to read data in LabVIEW. We are unable to receive data. We have tried NI given examples. 

Please let us know if some workout/solution to read data.

There is no issue with the card and its working. We need to get some way to read data from the Device. There is no Publisher/Subscriber ID. The direction is Subscriber Automatic Length. The device will transfer transfer on ID 02H. There has be some way/method to read the data

How is it all connected?

The DSub9 pinout is different:

PLIN:

4: LIN

5&6: GND

9: VBat

NI 8506:

7: LIN

3&6: GND

9: VBatt

If this is OK, where does VBatt come from? Maybe the PLIN can source that voltage, maybe even your device. But the NI 8506 cannot.

Hi,

We have made connections as per above only. The Source Voltage is 12V coming from Power supply which is common to NI and PLIN. 

The DUT will transmit the Fixed Frame as shown at first message. The NI-XNET is showing data as timeout. We can see Communication state as Active and also Transceiver is ON. its shows as Timeout. 

 Please let me know if other information is required, i am still figuring it out solution to this..
