Hi Everyone,
I am having a problem with the USB-8473s CAN interface. It has been working for some time now until this morning when I plugged it into my PC and the housing became very warm. I could not find it in MAX on my PC but I was able to find it on another computer and run the self test, which it failed.
It was working fine yesterday.
Here is the log that was generated:

Hi,
It sounds as though this product may need to be RMA'd - i.e. Returned to NI. Before you do that, however, I would first check a couple of things. There are two reasons why your hardware won't show up in MAX - a driver issue or a HW issue. I would first repair the NI-CAN driver on the computer that initially exhibited the issue. After reboot, try plugging the device in again. If it still does not show up, try other USB ports on the same computer. Finally, try plugging the device into a third computer. I recommend that you try these steps first, because if the device is returned to NI and no trouble is found, there will be a fee charged for having the techs investigate the issue. If, after you have taken the steps listed above, the issue is still not resolved, go ahead and call the support number at 1-866-275-6964. Please try to call when you are in front of your computer and make sure to have the 8437s as well.
Thanks,
