NI Usb 6009 oem

Hi everybody,

I have recently purchased an NI USB-6009 OEM and for the time being I can't even get it to communicate with the PC. I have used an NI USB-6008 before so I know the procedure, I have the NI-DAQmx and that one is working fine.

The problem is that when I connect the NI USB-6009 OEM to my PC at first it opens a pop-up window saying "found new hardware" and "installed successfully" but when I try to open it in MAX the USB device is not recognized and in addition my computer crashes.

Has anyone had this problem before? or does anyone know if there is something different with these OEM devices?

Thanks for the help.
Evdo.

Hello Evdo,

The USB-6008/6009 devices began being supported by the DAQmx driver in version 7.5.  However the OEM requires DAQmx 8.1 to be installed. This could be the reason why your USB-6008 is recognized but the USB-6009 OEM is not.

If you do not already have this newer version of the driver, you can download it from the Drivers and Updates page.

Hope this helps.

I have two of those USB devices.  One is a total paperweight, the second gives me that same error upon self-test.  Fortunately it seems to function properly otherwise so I haven't worried that much about it.  It does mean that I do have to keep a few non-NI devices on hand to make sure the NI devices are working....

Even from "cheap" NI hardware I hoped for a bit more.
