Whenever I hit "Run" on the NI-Elvis Function generator, the following error comes up: "One or more connections to external power rails are drawing too much power. The operation has been aborted to prevent the device from using too much power. Remove the connection(s) to the external power rails and restart your task."
Thanks in advance!

The message seems fairly clear, what is the question?
I guess whatever device you're powering (perhaps, from the title, an NI-MyDAQ?) requires more than the ELVIS can provide - you'll need to connect your device(s) to some external source that can supply a higher current.
The ELVIS' power supply capabilities can be found in a table on page 3 here https://www.ni.com/pdf/product-flyers/ni-elvis.pdf
Meanwhile, the specifications for the MyDAQ give a description on calculating power consumption (presumably for when you connect other devices to the MyDAQ's supplies).

The NI-myDAQ gets all the power it needs through its USB connector. I just looked at one, and verified that it has no (obvious) other power connector. I suggest that the title of your Post is wrong.
It is very confusing what the NI-Elvis Function Generator (the NI-Elvis is not the same as the NI-myDAQ) has to do with this (unless you really are writing about the NI-Elvis, in which case, you should mention what model of NI-Elvis you are using).
