Hello everyone, i am a complete newbie to labview rt (in fact,i haven't even started) and i was wondering if a labview rt target controller, when configured for stand-alone operation, can use its video output. Many thanks, Karel.

No. The front panel is removed when you've set it up for stand along operation.

The front panel is not necessarily removed - you can still view the front panel in a web browser on another machine, if you enable that option. But there is no way to view the front panel locally on the RT target.

Hello,
By video output you mean video output of the cRIO. We have 9082 that has VGA output. In this case you can monitor the threads and the CPU usage on a screen.
If you refer to front panel, there are way how you can see it, but only for debugging purposes, on the long run you shouldn't use it.
There are other techniques to transfer the data from cRIO to a computer to visualize the data.
Actually there are three ways:
1. Using network-shared variables - you can read more here http://www.ni.com/white-paper/12176/en
2. Using TCP/IP communication - read here http://www.ni.com/white-paper/3098/en
3. Network streams - read here http://www.ni.com/white-paper/12267/en
Kind regards,
Ion R.
