Operate an external application by simulating mouse and keyboard

I have an application that I would like to control using labview, but don't have any control information from the developer. As a last resort I would like to use Labview to control it by simulating the operator interface as it would be used with a mouse and keyboard by an operator. Do calls exist to do this?

I've used a program called AutoIT for this. Examples exist on the forum.
