PXI 5660 Trigger

I'm currently studying how to receive a RFID signal. If I transmit signals discontinuously with PXI 5670,which trigger mode should I choose to acquire the signals using PXI 5660 as a receiver ?

Since my signals last a very short period of time, how to configure that trigger mode?

Hello Oswald,

There are several things you can try depending on what you exactly want to do.

If you want to start to use the VSA on itself, then one thing you could try is the following trigger option:

niRFSA Configure IQ Power Edge Ref Trigger (see http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/372058G-01/rfsaviref/nirfsa_configure_trigger/)

This is were I personally would start.

Have you also already looked at your signal with the NI-RFSA Soft Front Panel?

Hello ThiCop,

         Thank you for your suggestion.

There's a problem that the niRFSA Configure IQ Power Edge Ref Trigger just supported  NI 5661/5663/5663E/5665 device while my hardware is

PXI-5660.I'm very confused that which trigger I can use.

I can look at my expected signal with the NI-RFSA Soft Front Panel after sending continuously and recieving continuously. But once sending the

signal discontinuously, I can not see it.

hello Oswald,

I was apparently a bit too fast with my replies yesterday.

I had forgotten that the NI-5660 is a special case.

For more details about please first have a look at the NI-RSFA Readme (http://download.ni.com/support/softlib//RF/NI-RFSA/2.5/NIRFSA250readme.htm).

You should make sure that NI PXI-5660 Support was installed during the installation of the NI-RFSA driver.

The next step would be reading through this Getting Started Manual (http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/375483a.pdf) to get familiar with the device and with the example VI's...
