PXIe-7961R missing from LabVIEW FPGA target list

Solved!
Go to solution

Hardware:

NI PCIe-8361 MXI Card

NI PXIe-1073 Chassis

NI PXIe-7961R FPGA Module

NI 5734 Adapter Module

Software:

Windows 11 64 bit

LabVIEW 2024 Q1

FlexRIO with Modular I/O 2024 Q1

FlexRIO with Integrated I/O 2024 Q1

LabVIEW FPGA module (64 bit) 2024 Q1

NI DAQmx 2024 Q1

NI MAX 2023 Q4

I have tried:

Create Project > LabVIEW FPGA Project

Tried selecting "FlexRIO on My Computer" > Discover existing system, but received the message, "No FlexRIO FPGA targets were discovered on the system."

Tried selecting "Create new system", but the PXIe-7961R is not present in the list of FPGA targets.

I would take a guess that that FPGA is not supported in 64-bit LabVIEW, as I don't see it in this list:

And likely won't be supported in 64-bit RIO anymore. The 7961 has a last time buy of 31.12.2024. This means it is a mature product to be obsoleted in less than a year. And it was considered mature already for some time. 64-bit RIO support is however a very recent development and NI often won't consider mature products to be added in new software drivers.

Thank you for the information! I will try with 32 bit LabVIEW

That worked a treat! Thank you!

I uninstalled LabVIEW 64 bit and installed LabVIEW 32 bit instead and was able to discover and create a new FPGA project through the wizard
