Just a note which might be useful for others who are in the same shoes as me now: I have found a pvcam32.lvlib here (http://labviewportal.ru/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=3034&start=30 ), which shows more consistency in function prototypes when I compare them to the ones in the PVCAM user manual version 3.6 (attached).
I will start to test our Princeton Instr. "PIXIS400" hardware next week with this lvlib...
