Probe watch window lose focus and disappear

After I've installed LW 2023 on my PC with LW 2020 I run into weird problem with Probe watch window on LW23. It loses focus all the time.

If I create a probe it loses focus immedeately (focus is set to .vi instead of probe window). If I click probe window it gains focus when I press a mouse button and losses it immedeately after I release it or if I hold it for more then 0.5 sec.

If I then press Alt-Tab probe window disappears after about 0.5 sec and the only way to open it is to click "find probe" on block diagram.

If I press any bar except LW one - probe bar disappears. It will appear again if I focus on any of LW23 bars but I still can't open it from there. If I click on probe bar when it's visible (focus is set on one of LW bars) it don't open probe window but toggles between Block Diagram and Front Pannel instead.

I've googled "Probe watch window don't work" and such, tried to delete WatchWindowPos line in LabVIEW.ini and LabVIEW.ini itself with no result.

I'm using one monitor, PC is running on Windows 10 64bit, using 32 bit LW2020 and LW2023. There is no such problem on LW2020.

Hi Tabahof,

I see what you mean. It appears with LV2023 the probe window was modified to:

1. Immediately give the window focus back to the window that previously had it. Key focus stays to the probe window though.

2. "Hide when LabVIEW is not active".

Quite unconventional and annoying behavior indeed. Maybe you should report it as a LV2023 bug.

Note: LabVIEW is abbreviated "LV".

Regards,

Raphaël.

Thank you for clarification I thought that I have some sort of a bug.

Is there a way to revert that change?

I do like some features of LV23 but usability of probe watch monitor means more to me.
