I'm experiencing the exact same problem with URG-04LX scanner when connected through USB to my laptop. Depending on whether the ID Query is enabled or not, I get a different error message. I found out that if I first use the UrgBenri software to connect the scanner, then disconnect, and then run the LV example VIs, they work. I also went a little deeper and it seems that if I just try to run the VIs, the "Query Instrument.vi" cannot communicate with the device, e.g. sending the VV command returns E. Running the same VI with VV command after connectinf and disconnecting using UrgBenri returns the correct response (serial number, firmware, etc.). Does anyone know the reason? Any experience on how to solve this issue?
