RT target reboots due to system error

Hello I get the same problem without running any VIs.

I'm simply setting up a chassis with:
pxi-8196
pxi-6031E
pxi-6723
pxi-6653

Software on the 8196:

  • DataSocket for LabVIEW Real-Time 4.2
  • Intel 8254x Ethernet Driver 1.1.1.3.0
  • LabVIEW Real-Time 7.1
  • NI-1394 External Drive Support 1.3.1.3.0
  • NI-DAQmx 7.4.0
  • NI-RIO RT 1.2.0
  • NI-Sync 1.2.0
  • NI-VISA 3.3.1
  • NI-VISA Server 3.3.1
  • NI-Watchdog 2.1.3
  • Traditional NI-DAQ 7.4.0

I can see in:

- MAX -> Remote Systems -> NI-DAQmx Devices -> pxi-6031E and pxi-6723

- MAX -> PXI System (NI PXI-8196) -> Chassis1 (PXI-1042) -> pxi-6031E, pxi-

6723 and pxi-6653

When I click on "NI-RIO Devices" from the "Remote Systems", the Remote system restarts and it says:

Reboot due to system error.

Redirecting output to log file.

How can I resolve this problem and see the 6653 as a RIO Device?

Thanks

I believe you are going to need a newer version of NI-RIO installed (see this KB: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/0DE785E50024B40E862570C1006D05D5?OpenDocument). The newer driver can be found on our drivers page, the direct link is here:

Hello Bob, I've installed NI-RIO 1.3, rebooted the system and I can no longer detect devices in remote systems.

The KB I linked previously states:

"You should be using NI-RIO 2.0 or above with your timing and sync module. Once you have installed the board, you must reboot your system for it to be recognized as an NI-RIO target. This reboot is required to refresh the RIO device list."

What do you see if you install version 2.0 or above of NI-RIO?
