Reusing LabVIEW write protected USB flash drive

Has anyone here been able to remove the write protection from the old LabVIEW USB flash drives? Something like repurposing the fall of 2017.

Hi SPC,

a 64GB USB drive costs less than 10€ in any discounter shop around here.

So how much effort do you want to put into that locked NI USB drive instead of getting a more modern one with maybe even better (USB3.2) interface?

Best regards,
GerdW

Hey GerdW,
Definitely less than $11 worth of effort. That's kinda why I posted the question here.
For me, it's more about recycling, taking something useless and giving it purpose again. Just imagine how happy the drive would be if it contained fall of 2024.
