I saw something similar on my home LV installation.  Slightly different.

Here the initial preview showed only a portion of what was selected.  Dragging the hand caused it to show all.

I think I have identified the issue.

In order to limit memory usage I have split code capturing from the overlay drawing. I think that initializing both picture controls is the issue.

On my tes version (LV 7.0) it didn't happen, however in newer versions (2009/2010) I see it as well. Hopefully i'll be able to push a new version this saturday.
