Search window Expected Behaviour or Bug?

I was trying to find Path control from the main vi to all sub vi's but not able to find a way but got one thing. Check this

• Go to search window (Ctrl+F) and select amy function from the search box
• Now again click the search box and make no selection and just click outside - The function that is already selected is also gone and turned into the default function

Is it an expected behaviour or a bug. If this is an expected behaviour how it helps I would not want to loose my selection. So anyone who knows the answer please share.

Update: This behaviour is not in 2011 I guess it has got fixed.
