Perhaps once started with the wrong baud rate the remote device is somehow corrupted?
It would be nice if that was the case, then a power cycle of remote device could fix things.
Otherwise if VISA actually refuses to de-allocate the resource then this could be a serious issue.
I personally never had a use case for selecting a baud rate , checking for garbage characters then restarting the resource
so it could be possible that LV in fact need to be restarted after such a manipulation.
