You can now use aliases in RT (with LabVIEW 7.0 and VISA 3.0). In MAX under remote systems when you expand under the RT controllers you get Devices and Interfaces then Ports and then the Com ports. You can right-click on these and choose properties. There you can assign an alias for use on the RT system.
