Shared Variables doesn't merge automatically in LabVIEW

Hi,

I have been trying to merge few VI and I found this strange thing in LV.  Only shared variables are not merged perfectly.  LabVIEW merges most the other changes between the VIs automatically, but when I try to merge the VIs which contains shared variable, then all shared variables are listed wtih "X" mark in merge windo which essentially means I have to manually do that merging.  

I attached a sample project which can help you understand this.  Try merging the VIs in it which has simple shared variable and check that LV asks us to choose the shared variable specifically.  Is this expected behavior or bug in LV?  because, I have huge list of shared variables in my project and want to merge the VIs often.  Please explain.

Additional Info: I use LV2013, Win 7 PC.
