Solidworks 3-D model in Labview's Control Panel

Good day for all:

My name is Juan Martin, i'm from mexico, i'm studying Mechatronichs and i have a little quest for you.

We are making a new project for the last exam of the class, Flexible Manufacture Systems, and i was asking my teachers about the posibility of putting a SolidWorks 3-D model INSIDE the control panel, just to see it, not to move it or something like NI SoftMotion, the thing that i need is too see the model in 3-D view, rotate it and see it, thats all, but i need to put it inside the control panel.

In fact, i was wondering to convert it in a Flash animation first and then, put it inside of an active X control, but i would like more to do a direct link to the solidworks files.

If someone can help me, i promise i will share my work to do something more interesting!

Thank you 😃

Export the image as "wrl" file and the 3D tollkit should be able to read and display same.

hi, thx Ben, i just came  to figure that, but now i have another question even more difficult.

I need to put a little window with an embedded software over the control panel, how can i do that? I mean, i know you can execute any program with just an url or a link , some thing like that, but the thing is that i need to put a window with the software running like from a remote panel, and just linked there in the control panel, do you know how can i do that? Thx!

Now you are pushing my comfort zone but I'll try.

Drop an ActiveX conatiner on the FP then right-click and.... this is where memory fails me... navigate and find something called generate from file... then point at your file.

If you figure out the correct procedure please share to remind the rest of us.
