This idea is too extreme for idea exchange

This idea was partly inspired by this one and is so far out there that I didn't want to post it on the idea exchange.

Can anyone from NI give me an idea if it would be possible to port LabVIEW and everything about it to Eclipse in time for LV2025? Don't get me wrong I really like LabVIEW but the UI definately shows how long it has been around.

If this is not TOO crazy then maybe I will suggest it over there.

A lot of people think of Eclipse as a Java Integrated Development Environment. But it has become a cross platform IDE "for everything and nothing in particular". It is a BSDish license so that part is easy. There are all kinds of tools that use Eclipse that are graphical in nature such as database entity relationship models and UML tools.

The IDE is awesome.
