Did you ever have a toolbar in DWE 3.0? I just looked and I do not have one either. It appears all of the functionality is accessible though the menus. Is there anything that is not accessible?

Thanks,

Valentin,

I'm on Windows 7 and seem to have the same problem that you are having. If you have a system that is still displaying the toolbar properly could you provide me with the following information about the system?

  1. The Operating System version
  2. Screen Resolution
  3. Digital Waveform Editor Version (screenshot of the "About" window from Help >> About in the Editor)

Thanks,

Alex W.

In talking with other engineers it appears that this behavior (the toolbar disappearing) occurs when certain pieces of NI software are installed. R&D is working to determine the exact cause. If you have a system that still has the toolbar it would be very helpful to get a MAX technical report of both systems to see what software is different. Would you be able to provide those?

Thanks,

I've shared that information with other support engineers here at NI, as well as with R&D and we are trying to determine the exact cause. So far it appears this problem only occurs with driver versions later than 15.0 and we have not narrowed down exactly what driver is causing it. For an immediate workaround it may be possible to install 15.0 or earlier revision of all drivers. This certainly leaves a lot to be desired as it requires a lot of uninstallation and re-installation and we do not guarantee that all components will be properly rolled back (it's possible the toolbar might still be missing, we have not tested rolling back drivers in order to restore the toolbar as of yet.)

A corrective action report has been filed for this behavior. (CAR# 616478)

I was able to reproduce on a Windows 7 VM by installing System Configuration 16.0. This contains several components that are also included in DAQmx 16.0 so I expect the problem to exist in both cases.

On my VM I removed NI MAX (this uninstalls a lot of software) and then installed DWE 3.0 and DAQmx 15.5. This brought the toolbar back for me.

Any progress on this? Or how do I find out about progress on a CAR#?
