Is there an option within LabVIEW that allows me to permanently turn off Automatic Tool Selection?

thank you again... I just updated to labview 8.6 and I knew this 'feature' could be disabled. It is only very hard to find... I would expect it to be at the 'diagram preferences' tab

To access automatic tool selection, you can use the hotkey as well. Hold down the left SHIFT key while right-clicking.

Unfortunately, this suggestion does not "permanently disable" automatic tool selection. It just enables toggling off with the TAB key and on with the Shift-TAB key.
I would very much like to be able to "permanent disable" this feature, so that it does not come on and give unexpected selections, if I accidentally toggle it on.
I'm guessing there is not a way to do this but if there is, please let me know. I find this feature distracting.

Yes, my comment was in response to this "solution". I tested the solution. It does not permanently disable; it only allows toggling.

You are correct. I never noticed this before as I am a "Tabber" - I use the Tab key to rotate through the tools palette. Which always turns off Auto Tool Select.
