USB-6008 with LabVIEW 8.0?

I am trying to use a NI USB-6008 multifunction I/O with LabVIEW 8.0. The USB-6008 works fine when used with NI-DAQmx 9.1.7 which was supplied with the USB-6008. However, this version of DAQmx does not work with LabVIEW 8.0, so I installed DAQmx 8.7.1 which is supposed to work with LV 8.0. But this version of DAQ is not recognizing the USB-6008. It is not listed in "Devices and Interfaces" in MAX 4.4.1 It is also not available in SignalExpress 2.5.1. It does show up in the device manager. Other information: Win7 Home Premium, Dell Studio15. Anyone have a solution?

You did not indicate if you are running a 64-bit OS. That's important. The earliest version of DAQmx that officially supports Windows 7 is 9.0.2. That version, however, does not support LabVIEW 8.0. The latest version of DAQmx that supports LabVIEW 8.0 is DAQmx 8.9. That version supports the USB-6008. So, you can try DAQmx 8.9, but as noted, it has not been deemed as compatible with Windows 7. It may work for you, it may not. Your other options: upgrade LabVIEW, or downgrade your operating system.

And, no, DAQmx won't work in a virtual machine for you. (I'm peering into the crystal ball to guess your next question.)

Thanks for the assistance. To answer your question, I am running 64 bit Win7.

I didn't have much luck with DAQmx 8.9 on Win7.  I ended up moving the project to an old XP machine.
