USB-8501 Compatibility with Linux

Hello,

I successfully accessed and used the USB-8501 for sending and receiving CAN messages on Windows 11. However, after installing the Linux drivers (ni-ubuntu2204-drivers-2024Q3.deb), the USB-8501 device does not appear in the NI Hardware Configuration Utility on Linux.

Could you please confirm if the USB-8501 is compatible with Linux, and if there are any additional steps I might need to take to get it recognized?

You can check the compatibility by going through the NI Hardware and Software Operating System Compatibility link, where you can input your hardware name and the documentation will show the compatible Linux version for your hardware. For the Ubuntu 22.04, the compatible Linux Dekstop version is 2022 Q3.
