Hello,
I'd appreciate your advice on how the Sound Output Set Volume VI works. The control allows a range from 0 (no output) to 100 (loudest 'volume'). Does the value written to the VI set the gain of the sound card amplifier? So if (say) a 1-mV signal is written to the sound card with the volume control set to the maximum of 100, does the sound card send out a 100-mV signal?

Hi Geoff,
Checking the documentation for this VI:
I do not see the volume input as a gain. It is like a percentage. 0 is silent and 100 is the loudest, but it is not representing a gain directly. If you specify 50 for example, you are going to get the 50% of the loudest sound possible.
