Upgrading from 8.5 to 8.6 LabVIEW does not start

I decided to upgrade LabVIEW from 8.5 to 8.6.  After checking and installing only Labview 8.6, LabVIEW 8.5 and 8.6 do not open.  Has anyone else seen this problem?  You continuiously get an error prompt when you try to launch.  There are some error logs but I decided not to post for security reasons. 

 

I plan on calling NI too but wanted to let others know before hand.

I ended up removing all NI products and reinstalling LabVIEW 8.6, I'm finally back up and running.  -SS

My LabVIEW 8.6 install decided to blow it's brain again.

 

Causing the "LabVIEW 8.6 Development System has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience" message to display on startup.  

 

Error signature:

AppName: labview.exe     AppVer: 8.6.0.4001     ModName: labview.exe
ModVer: 8.6.0.4001     Offset: 012d18dd

 

I will reinstall.

I did a repair using the install disks, reactivated and I'm now up and running.  This takes little over an hour.

 

Has anyone else this seen this happen?  I will run a check disk to see if I have a hard drive problem, but this is very discouraging.  -SS
